Of the committees, 10 will operate under Dhaka North City Corporation and 10 under Dhaka South City Corporation, covering the respective zones of the regional executive officers’ offices.

Director-level officials from the Prime Minister’s Office will head the zonal committees, which will include representatives from relevant government divisions, Dhaka WASA, metropolitan police, city corporation departments and law enforcement agencies. Executive magistrates will also be assigned to the committees.

The decisions were taken at a review meeting held at the Local Government Division’s conference room on Monday.
