The prosecution of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) today filed formal charges in a crimes against humanity case against 11 people, including ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, over the killing of Teknaf ward Councillor Ekramul Haque.

The prosecution submitted the formal charges to the office of the ICT registrar this morning. Confirming the development to journalists, Chief Prosecutor Md Aminul Islam said ICT-2 has taken the formal charges into cognizance.

The other prominent accused in the case are Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Abdur Rahman Bodi and Benazir Ahmed.

Ekramul Haque, former councillor of ward-3 of Teknaf municipality, was killed in a so-called gunfight with RAB-7 on May 26, 2018.
