Popular television actress Samira Khan Mahi has been crowned 'Miss Universe Bangladesh 2026'.

She was declared the winner at a glamorous event held at a hotel in the capital on Saturday (November 7).

With this victory, Mahi succeeds last year's winner, Tangia Zaman Mithila, and will now represent Bangladesh on the international stage.

High tension filled the venue leading up to the announcement of the winner.

Outgoing Miss Universe Bangladesh Tangia Zaman Mithila placed the crown on Mahi's head, after which the two shared a warm embrace.

The entire auditorium erupted in applause as they took a joint victory walk across the stage.

For the occasion, Mahi wore a sparkling champagne-gold mermaid gown featuring off-the-shoulder styling and heavy stone embellishments.

Meanwhile, outgoing titleholder Mithila appeared in a light blue and silver gown.

Actress Toma Mirza was present on stage during the winner announcement, alongside actress Dighi, director Mehedi Hasan Hridoy, and several models and choreographers.

According to the organizers, Samira Khan Mahi will represent Bangladesh at the 75th Miss Universe pageant, scheduled to begin on November 11 in Puerto Rico.

Expressing her enthusiasm about representing the country on the global stage in the Caribbean territory, Mahi shared her immediate reaction:

Notably, Tangia Zaman Mithila represented Bangladesh at the 74th Miss Universe competition in 2025, where she secured a spot in the Top 30 among contestants from 122 countries—marking the first-ever placement for Bangladesh in Miss Universe history—while also taking the top spot in the People's Choice category.

Samira Khan Mahi now looks to build on that historical success as she prepares for the global stage.
