Bangladesh and Pakistan have agreed to strengthen business-to-business (B2B) engagement and explore greater cooperation in the textile and apparel supply chain.

The matter was discussed at a meeting between Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) President Mohammad Hatem and Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider at the BKMEA office in Dhaka, BSS reported, citing a press release. Several BKMEA directors also attended.

The meeting discussed activities under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between BKMEA and the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), as well as joint B2B meetings to create direct business links between companies from the two countries.

Hatem invited Pakistani companies to take part in the Bangladesh International Textile, Knitting and Garment Industry Exhibition, scheduled to be held in Dhaka in January 2027.

He said participation in the exhibition could help strengthen supply-chain cooperation and expand commercial ties between businesses in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

High Commissioner Imran Haider assured Hatem of all possible cooperation to promote bilateral trade and commercial collaboration.
