Bangladesh recorded a significant rise in remittance inflows during the early weeks of the 2026-27 fiscal year, with overseas Bangladeshis sending US$3.132 billion between July 1 and August 2.

According to the latest figures released by Bangladesh Bank, the amount represents a 23.4 percent increase from the US$2.538 billion received during the same period of the previous fiscal year.

On August 2 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis remitted US$193 million through official channels, the central bank data showed.

The figures also revealed that remittance inflows reached US$273 million during the first two days of August, compared with US$61 million during the corresponding period last year. This reflects a year-on-year increase of 351.6 percent for the month so far.

The latest performance comes after Bangladesh posted a record US$2.859 billion in remittance receipts in July, indicating sustained confidence among expatriate Bangladeshis in sending money through formal banking channels.
