Government Vows Peaceful Conduct of 2027 Bishwa Ijtema

Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has said the government is fully committed to ensuring that the upcoming Bishwa Ijtema is held in a peaceful and orderly environment.

Speaking at a briefing at the Secretariat recently, the minister announced the dates for the major religious gathering and outlined arrangements concerning its conduct.

The next Bishwa Ijtema will be held in two phases at Tongi on the bank of the Turag River. The first phase is scheduled for January 8–10, 2027, while the second phase will take place from January 15–17.

The schedule was finalised after discussions with both factions of the Tabligh Jamaat. Followers of the Zubair faction will attend the first phase, while followers of the Saad faction will participate in the second phase.

To prevent any form of disorder during the Ijtema and maintain overall law and order, law enforcement agencies and all relevant authorities have been instructed to take necessary measures.
