The government has appointed Kazi Jesin as the director general of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on a one-year contractual basis, according to a notification issued on Wednesday by the Ministry of Public Administration.
The notification, issued by the ministry's Contract and Foreign Recruitment Branch, states that Jesin has been appointed to the Grade-1 post under Section 11(2) of the Bangladesh Television Authority Act, 2001.
Her appointment will take effect from the date she joins office and will remain valid for one year.
Before assuming the role, Jesin will be required to resign from any profession, business, or employment with any government, semi-government, private institution, or organisation.
The notification also states that the remaining terms and conditions of the appointment will be determined through a contract signed between the government and the appointee.
According to the government, the appointment has been made in the public interest.
