Former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina Among 41 Charged in Crimes Against Humanity Case

Former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 40 others have been formally charged in a crimes against humanity case linked to the 2013 police operation against a rally in Dhaka, according to authorities.

The charges relate to the security forces' crackdown on demonstrators during the rally, an incident that has remained a subject of legal and political scrutiny. Officials said the case has now progressed with the filing of formal charges against the accused.

The development was part of a series of regional events reported on Monday, which also included deadly communal violence in Nepal, a fatal shooting in Toronto, a major drug seizure in Ontario, security concerns surrounding a religious festival in Sri Lanka, and renewed diplomatic efforts involving the United States and Iran.
