Bangladesh received $12.112 billion in remittances between July 2026 and November 4 of the current fiscal year (FY27), marking a 14.2 per cent increase from the $10.610 billion recorded during the same period last fiscal year, according to the latest Bangladesh Bank data.

Remittance inflows reached $647 million in the first four days of November, up 40.33 per cent from the $461 million received during the corresponding period in November 2025.

On November 4 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $126 million through formal banking channels, reports BSS.

The continued growth in remittances reflects a positive trend in overseas earnings transferred through formal channels, boosting the country's foreign exchange reserves and supporting external sector stability.

Remittances remain one of Bangladesh's major sources of foreign exchange.
