Two players were sent off for pulling the dreadlocks of Anguilla forward Aedan Scipio during a Concacaf Nations League match against Antigua and Barbuda.

Scipio, 36, has dreadlocks that reach his ankles and uses a band around his waist to keep his hair tied to his body.

He came off the bench in the 69th minute with Anguilla trailing 5-0 at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.

Three minutes later, Antigua and Barbuda defender Keon Greene was shown a straight red card for pulling Scipio’s dreadlocks.

The bizarre incident was repeated in added time when Shalon Knight pulled Scipio’s dreadlocks from behind, bringing him to the ground and earning a red card.

Antigua and Barbuda were reduced to nine players as a result.

Anguilla are ranked 210th in the FIFA men’s world rankings, with only San Marino below them.
