The Radda MCH-FP Centre in Mirpur, Dhaka, has been declared free of occupation several days after it was attacked, looted and vandalised. The attack-installed signboard has been removed.

The clinic’s original signboard was put back up on Monday morning (September 28), while repair work has begun on several damaged sections. Medical services, however, have continued, with healthcare workers carrying out necessary activities inside and outside the clinic.

Clinic officials removed the signboard the occupiers installed on Monday morning and restored the health centre’s original signboard.

Repair work also began before the damage caused by the attack had been fully addressed. Workers are repairing various damaged parts of the facility, while healthcare workers continue providing services inside the clinic. Necessary activities are also being conducted outside using tables and chairs.

Earlier, the Radda MCH-FP Centre, located in Section 1 of Mirpur, was attacked, looted and vandalised around midnight on September 24. According to the clinic authorities, a signboard bearing the name ‘Sammona Dokandar Samabay Samity Limited’ was installed on their premises following the attack.

Police have so far arrested nine people in connection with the incident. The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) also said that two truckloads of looted goods had been recovered. Following the incident, Shah Ali Police Station officer-in-charge Jahangir Alam was withdrawn from his post.
