J-Pop Idol Shuto Inomata Facing Charges After Alleged Assault in Tokyo
Shuto Inomata, a 25-year-old member of the Japanese idol group timelesz, was referred to prosecutors on Sunday following his arrest for alleged assault in Tokyo.

Details of the Incident
According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police, the incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on September 18 inside a vehicle parked near a convenience store in Tatsumi, Koto Ward, Tokyo. Inomata is accused of repeatedly punching a 26-year-old female acquaintance in the face following a verbal argument.
The woman fled the vehicle and sought help inside the convenience store, reporting that she had been struck. Witnesses and store staff contacted law enforcement after noticing she was suffering from facial bruising and a bloody nose.
Suspect's Response & Agency Statement
Inomata denied allegations of intentional assault during police questioning, stating that he panicked during an argument and that his hand "may have accidentally struck her face".
Following the arrest, his talent management agency, STARTO ENTERTAINMENT, issued a formal apology to the victim and announced that Inomata has been suspended from all official group activities indefinitely as investigations continue.
Inomata joined timelesz in February 2025 after participating in an open audition process documented on Netflix.
