Actor Sai Pallavi has revealed that she rejected a reported Rs 2 crore endorsement offer for a fairness cream, saying she did not want to promote products that could make people feel insecure about their skin colour.

Speaking in an earlier interview with Bollywood Hungama, the Ramayana: Part 1 actor said she believes people should embrace their natural appearance instead of trying to conform to society's beauty standards.

Sai Pallavi said she has never endorsed beauty products, explaining that she rarely wears makeup and prefers to appear naturally on screen. She added that confidence should come from accepting one's own identity and skin tone.

The actor said her decision was also shaped by her younger sister's experience of being encouraged to consume certain foods in the hope of becoming fairer. She said the incident affected her deeply and reinforced her decision not to promote fairness products.

Sai Pallavi also recalled her own struggle with acne before entering the film industry, saying she often felt too self-conscious to leave home because she believed people would only notice her skin.

However, after making her acting debut in the 2015 Malayalam film Premam, she realised audiences accepted her despite her acne, which helped her gain confidence.

She said many young people later told her that seeing her on screen encouraged them to feel more comfortable with their own appearance. According to the actor, that experience strengthened her resolve not to endorse products that could make people doubt their natural looks.

Sai Pallavi added that while she respects those who choose to promote such brands, she wanted to remain consistent with her personal values.
