Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia sign mutual defence agreement

Pakistan on Friday said a newly signed defence agreement with Turkey and Saudi Arabia provides that an armed attack on any one of the three countries will be considered an attack against all members.

The agreement was signed in Saudi Arabia by the leaders of Pakistan, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

According to Pakistan's foreign ministry, the pact is aimed at strengthening collective deterrence against armed aggression and establishes a framework under which any attack on one member state will be regarded as an attack on the other two.

The ministry said the agreement is intended to reinforce collective security and deter potential acts of aggression against any of the three signatory countries.
