Assistant Prof of the Management Department SM Yusuf Ali attended the event as the chief guest. Assistant Prof Atiqur Rahman of the same department and Zeenat Mia Azizul, member secretary of the JSTU Chhatra Dal, spoke as special guests.
Humayun Kabir chaired the session, while Md Shah Newaz Ahmed Akash moderated the programme.
Speakers at the discussion highlighted the importance of both personal awareness and collective efforts to prevent dengue. They urged people to keep homes, educational institutions and surrounding areas clean, avoid water accumulation for more than three days, destroy mosquito breeding grounds and seek medical advice immediately after noticing dengue symptoms.
In his speech, Humayun Kabir said, “There is no alternative to personal and social awareness in preventing dengue. Everyone must keep their homes, campuses and surroundings clean and avoid allowing water to remain stagnant for more than three days. We all need to play responsible roles from our respective positions to prevent dengue. Awareness and collective efforts can ensure a safe and dengue-free environment.”
The speakers urged students and others to spread awareness about dengue prevention among their families, neighbours and communities. At the end of the session, participants pledged to work together to build a clean and dengue-free environment.
