Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal Vows to Lead Fight Against Rape, Violence Against Women and Children

Dhaka, September 12, 2026: BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has expressed his determination that the Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal will play a leading role in eliminating rape and violence against women and children from society.

Rizvi made the remarks at a pre-rally gathering organised in front of the BNP's Nayapaltan central office in the capital on Saturday, September 12, marking the 48th founding anniversary of the Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal.

He said ensuring women's genuine rights requires providing them with access to education and making them financially self-reliant.

Rizvi said the Jatiyatabadi Mahila Dal had been built through years of sacrifice and struggle. He added that the organisation's women leaders were by no means incapable and were equally competent to play a role in running the state.

Referring to various public welfare programmes of the government, Rizvi described the 'Family Card' initiative for women as a groundbreaking step that is playing an important role in women's empowerment.

Addressing party activists, he said, "Not everyone will become an MP or minister, but your representatives are becoming MPs and ministers. Therefore, you are also part of this leadership."

He urged party leaders and activists to communicate Tarique Rahman's people-oriented and women-friendly programmes to the public.
