The depression located over the west-central Bay of Bengal and the adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal has moved northwestwards, intensified, and currently lies over the same area as a deep depression. Under its influence, the sea remains rough near the center of the deep depression.

It is likely to move further west-northwestwards and cross the North Andhra Pradesh - South Odisha coast of India by midnight today.

The maximum sustained wind speed within 48 km of the deep depression center is about 50 km/h, rising to 60 km/h in gusts or squalls. The sea remains rough in areas near the deep depression's center.

Meanwhile, the maritime ports of Chittagong, Cox's Bazar, Mongla, and Payra have been advised to keep Local Cautionary Signal No. 3 hoisted. Additionally, all fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay of Bengal have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
