Bob Marley’s ‘Legend’ Reaches 950 Weeks on Billboard 200
The compilation joins Pink Floyd’s ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ as the only albums to spend at least 950 weeks on the Billboard 200.

Bob Marley’s Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers has reached another major milestone on the Billboard 200, spending its 950th week on the US albums chart.
The compilation, which features many of Marley’s best-known songs, moved up one position this week, rising from No. 84 to No. 83.
Although Legend never reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, its extraordinary longevity has allowed it to surpass the performance of many albums that have topped the chart over the years.
With 950 weeks on the Billboard 200, Legend has now joined an extremely exclusive group. It is only the second album in chart history to reach the milestone, alongside Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon.
The Dark Side of the Moon is approaching another landmark, needing roughly another month on the chart to reach 1,000 weeks. However, Legend appears on the Billboard 200 more consistently, leaving open the possibility of a race between the two albums to reach the milestone first.
Only one other album has spent at least 900 weeks on the Billboard 200. Journey’s Greatest Hits recently crossed that mark and, like Legend, continues to add weeks to its historic total.
Meanwhile, Legend remains dominant on Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart. The compilation holds the No. 1 position and has fallen from the top spot only once during its nearly 350 weeks on the ranking.
Bob Marley and the Wailers have two albums in the Reggae Albums top 10 this week. While Legend remains at No. 1, Exodus moved up from No. 9 to No. 8. The album has never topped the chart, with its highest position being No. 3.
