A Dhaka court on Monday summoned actress Tanjin Tisha to appear before it in a fresh case filed over alleged threats to force a fashion designer to withdraw a case involving a Tk75,000 saree.

Fashion designer Sanaya Anam Wafiqah Chowdhury filed the case before Dhaka Executive Magistrate Md Mahbub-ul-Alam, said the complainant’s lawyer, Shuvro Sinha Rony.

The court later recorded the complainant’s statement, took cognisance of the case and directed the accused to appear before it on November 23 to explain her position.

According to the case documents, the complainant had filed a case against the actress with a Dhaka court on November 27, 2025, accusing her of fraud and criminal breach of trust.

Later, the accused allegedly threatened her on several occasions, pressuring her to withdraw the case and threatening to harm her.

The complainant also said that the case was initially investigated by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) and that she filed a no-confidence petition on October 25, 2026, challenging the report submitted by the PBI.

The court accepted the petition and ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police to conduct further investigation.

The complainant alleged that the accused became angry over the court’s order and threatened her on Sunday, demanding that she withdraw the case.

The complainant said she felt insecure and approached a nearby police station to file a case but was advised to seek legal recourse through the court.
